Dear Hiring Manager,
I'm writing to express my interest in joining TikTok's Recommendation Architecture Team as a university graduate. As a Computer Science student at the Georgia Institute of Technology, I've learned to hone my passion into skills which I can apply into the workplace.
I have extensive experience with programming languages such as Go, Python, Java, and C variants, as well as experience with high-performance computing frameworks and cloud platforms in distributed systems like GCP and AWS. My coursework in parallel computation and distrubuted systems has greatly improved my ability to work on highly available systems like TikTok and I believe my skill set suits this position perfectly.
My previous internship experience with Yext taught me extensively about the technologies and work that goes into making a high-performance system capable of supporting the user size of TikTok. I worked on integrating Kafka streams, Redis caches, and cloud storage solutions to create an exceptionally fast and reliable system, perfect for working with the integral recommendation structure for TikTok. I also worked with other teams to ensure that the system was scalable and adhered to Agile methodologies.
I am particularly excited about TikTok's mission to inspire creatibity and exist as a platform for individuals to express themselves, as well as the company's commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment. I am confident that my background, technical expertise, and passion for developing impactful solutions will enable me to contribute effectively to your team.
